Based in Santiago, Chile, Luis has over 25 years of experience in mining and civil engineering projects. His background is primarily in geotechnics, rock mechanics, water resources and tailings management, including studies from conceptual to detailed engineering.
Luis has a deep appreciation of how mining underpins modern life, and he strategizes beyond the confines of box-checking regulatory standards to create long-lasting solutions. A natural leader, he’s managed teams of more than 300 people to meet a common goal. Luis also led several international multidisciplinary projects, balancing priorities from contractors, work teams, clients, and other stakeholders. He’s also proficient in both English and Spanish, making him an undeniable asset on teams around the world.
In his free time, Luis enjoys sports. He plays tennis and soccer and ran the New York marathon when he was 18. Today, he enjoys golf and paddle tennis.
