Paul is a problem solver, and that makes his job both exciting and fulfilling. His next phone call, email, or knock on his office door could bring a great story or a catastrophe—in a company of our size, the sky’s the limit for interesting legal and business issues to be involved in.
Based out of our Edmonton, Alberta office, Paul is responsible for managing the corporation’s legal structure and services. He serves as secretary to the board of directors and leads Stantec’s risk management team, which is responsible for the corporation’s legal services, including contract review, insurance, employment law, ethics/integrity issues, litigation, and claim management.
Before joining Stantec in 1998, Paul was in private legal practice for seven years, focusing on employment/labor law and general litigation. He attended the University of Alberta and has been a long-term sessional instructor with the University of Lethbridge, Faculty of Management.
Outside of work, Paul is a member of a number of professional associations, a past chair and director of Student Legal Services of Edmonton, a past president and director of the Kiwanis Club of Edmonton, and an active volunteer in local minor sports.
