Dr. Farzad Abedzadeh is a registered professional engineer with nearly four decades of experience in structural, geotechnical, and civil engineering. He has focused on the analysis, design, and construction of concrete and earthen structures, foundations, and soil improvement.
Farzad’s experience involves the structural analysis of concrete dams and outlet structures and the seismic stability analysis of embankment dams. He is armed with a practical background, understanding of materials and mechanics, and experience in the application of engineering software. In addition to research experience, Farzad has provided design‐build services for large soil improvement projects, large pile foundations, and designed the Department of Energy (DOE) first panel closure system in salt rock tunnels.
One of Farzad’s favorite hobbies is to find and study published material about dams and hydraulic structures from the years 1900 to 1950. He is also passionate about world politics, the analysis of international affairs, and how they affect policymakers’ decisions.
