West Olive, Michigan
Nestled near the shore of Lake Michigan, West Olive sits where agricultural lands and natural areas give way to sand dunes and beaches. The area’s acid-sandy soils are ideal for producing delicious raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries. During July and August, visitors come to pick blueberries and buy jams, syrups, ice cream, baked goods, and other food items produced with these berries.
This region is also known for beautiful parks and nature areas along the Grand River. Over six miles of hiking and cross-country skiing trails meander through West Olive. Trails and boardwalks at Olive Shores and nearby Kirk Park offer opportunities for hiking, biking, or a summer picnic on the beach. Other nearby attractions include Grand Valley State University and the coastal city of Grand Haven.
Our West Olive teams focus largely on ecosystem restoration and water resources projects, many in our own backyard! Nature-based engineering, wetland delineations, full-delivery stream and wetland restorations, threatened and endangered species and botanical surveys, native planting and seeding plans and installation, and invasive species control are just some of the services we offer.
