Stantec receives four Environmental Business International awards
Firm recognized for its sustainability reporting and business integration

Stantec, a global leader in design and engineering, has been awarded four awards from Environmental Business International Inc., which publishes Climate Change Business Journal (CCBJ) and Environmental Business Journal (EBJ). Stantec won two awards from each journal, which celebrated the firm’s sustainability reporting, business integration, and innovation.
CCBJ recognized Stantec with a Business Achievement Award for its 2022 annual Sustainability Report and for delivering on its promise to achieve operational carbon neutrality. The firm reported that 60 percent of its 2022 gross revenue was aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. CCBJ also recognized Stantec for participating in the Structural Engineers 2050 Commitment Program, which prioritizes the reduction of embodied carbon in project work and using fewer and less impactful structural materials.
EBJ awarded Stantec the Business Achievement Award/Large Firms for reorganizing its US Environmental Services leadership team and successfully integrating three recent acquisitions in 2023. In just three years, the ES staff in the US has doubled because of the acquisitions. EBJ also awarded its Technology Merit Award to the firm’s DebrisFlow Predictor. The firm’s software can predict the impacts of a debris flow by path, depth, total area, and volume. The outcomes generated by DebrisFlow Predictor can help users make decisions that preserve communities, infrastructure, and the environment.
