Global design firm Stantec recently announced the promotion of James Wright to regional business leader for the US North Central and Gulf regions of their Buildings practice.
With more than 20 years in the design industry, Wright brings a valuable understanding of the nuances and challenges of leading a design practice. He will apply this knowledge in his new role to continue the momentum achieved to date toward uniting the diverse business centers, sector expertise, and more than 400 multidisciplinary practitioners across the region to realize a robust and inclusive design culture.
Wright is transitioning from his seven-year role as managing leader for Stantec’s 150-person Chicago architecture/engineering practice. He brings expertise in client-focused design solutions, operational management, and corporate planning and budgeting. Wright is a board member of the Kellogg Real Estate Alumni Network (KREAN) and active with the Chicago Loop Alliance. He earned a BA from Illinois Institute of Technology and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
“As a leader focused on delivering impactful design and business outcomes, James brings collaborative and innovation solutions to every space,” said Arliss Szysky, Stantec’s senior vice president for Buildings. “With an expanded reach, he will continue to inspire and motivate by providing a strong operational support to our teams by leveraging the immense talent throughout the regions.”
