Global engineering and consulting firm Stantec has made three leadership appointments to grow its infrastructure, environment and geosciences practices in Australia.
Shane Higgins will lead Stantec’s infrastructure group to deliver smarter, sustainable transport and community infrastructure across urban and regional centres. He will be joined by David Pitronaci as Regional Director, Community Development.
Shane has over 30 years’ experience working within government and consulting while David has 24 years’ industry experience delivering landmark recreational, community infrastructure and master planned residential projects. Both Shane and David are based in Sydney.
Natalie Muir will lead Stantec’s Environment and Geosciences team ensuring environmental science, engineering expertise and sustainable design are woven into all our projects. Natalie is based in Brisbane and has more than 23 years’ experience within the engineering profession. She is also Stantec’s climate solutions leader for Australia and New Zealand.
‘Shane, David and Natalie join us through our acquisition of Cardno which has doubled our size in Australia and expanded our service offering,’ said José Granado, Stantec’s Australian and New Zealand Regional Leader.
‘They each have strong industry and leadership experience and are effective team players. I am looking forward to working closely with them as we grow our presence in Australia during this period of significant investment in public and private infrastructure projects.’
Shane, David, and Natalie’s appointments are effective from 1 January 2023 when they will formally join Stantec’s leadership team in Australia. In the interim, they will continue supporting our integration program and business operations in their existing senior leadership roles.
