The 174-room hotel is the first on-site hotel for Sawgrass Mills mall and the first new hotel to be built in Sunrise in 15 years

Leading global design firm Stantec announced the completion of the eight-story,174-room AC Hotel Fort Lauderdale Sawgrass Mills/Sunrise in Sunrise, Florida. The new hotel is located on the grounds of the popular Sawgrass Mills mall, the largest outlet and value retail shopping destination in the United States. Developed by Norwich Partners, Stantec served as the project’s architect and structural mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineer of record, working in partnership with interior design firm Group One Partners.
“Sawgrass Mills is undergoing a multi-million-dollar renovation. The new AC Hotel Fort Lauderdale Sawgrass Mills/Sunrise, which is the first AC brand in Broward County, fits perfectly with the mall’s new modern feel that will appeal to local and international visitors alike,” said Jennifer Llop-Noy, associate and project manager in Stantec’s Miami office. “We’re proud to have worked with Norwich Partners to bring this new hotel to the community.”
Featuring a sleek and modern design, the hotel’s façade has alternating textured panels alongside the windows. The hotel lobby includes an AC Lounge featuring a communal space with a full bar serving local beers and hand-crafted cocktails and an outside terrace that makes the most of South Florida’s warm weather. Manicured landscaped areas define the walkways around the building and lead guests to the mall’s high-end Colonnade Outlets and nearby restaurants.
The hotel also offers a rooftop deck with bar, lounge, cascading water fountain, and 24-hour fitness center. Other hotel amenities include an art gallery featuring the works of local artists, a digital library, the AC Kitchen restaurant and 1,675 square-feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space.
