Leading global design firm Stantec recently announced the promotion of Arliss Szysky to senior vice president and business leader of operations and Josh Gould to senior vice president and business leader of growth, both for the Buildings practice.
In her new role, Szysky will be responsible for the continuous improvement and effective management of business operations. She will seek process efficiency and drive profitability for the North American Buildings practice. Szysky is transitioning from her five-year role as regional leader for Stantec’s 1,400-person Alberta South region. She is committed to collaboration and innovation that achieve impactful design and business outcomes.
Szysky is a professional engineer, and a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) and Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network. As part of her people-focused philosophy, Szysky strongly values diversity in the workplace. She sits on Stantec’s Inclusion and Diversity Council, actively advocating for all team members to bring their unique perspective to problem solving.
Gould expands his leadership of the Airports and Civic sector to develop growth strategies across all sectors, delivering long-term success by driving entrepreneurial and innovative behaviors designed to identify new markets, geographies, disciplines, and services. He will align Stantec’s practice with current global and industry trends while positioning the firm to capitalize on emerging ideas, non-traditional industry partnerships, targeted acquisitions, and business opportunities within the global marketplace. Gould will also bring additional focus to implementing strategies to support resilient communities, smart cities, and the energy transition.
Gould is a LEED accredited professional and was named the 2012 Architect of the Year by the Denver Business Journal. He is a member of American Institute of Architects, past president of CoreNet Global Rocky Mountain Chapter, chair of the Metro Denver Economic Development Council, advisory board member for the University of Colorado Business School, and executive sponsor of the Women@Stantec Colorado chapter.
“It’s an exciting time to be part of our Buildings practice, with Arliss’s steady hand guiding our operations and Josh’s experience identifying new growth opportunities,” said Leonard Castro, Stantec’s executive vice president for Buildings. “We’re in a strong position to deliver exceptional results for our clients and our business now and in the future.”
