11/10/2021 VICTORIA, BC TSX, NYSE:STN

Stantec civil engineer and sustainable infrastructure team lead Brad Moore has been recognized as one of Corporate Knights’ 2021 Top 30 under 30 Sustainability Leaders. Based in Stantec’s Victoria, British Columbia office, Brad has applied his unique skill set of engineering design, sustainability, and construction delivery to projects at over 60 locations across Canada and the US, including major roadways, water utilities, roundabouts, and wastewater treatment systems. He currently supports communities in Vancouver, Los Angeles, New York City, Denver, and Portland as they transition their sustainability goals into actionable strategies that can be implemented through their infrastructure projects.

“Being named one of Corporate Knights’ 2021 Top 30 under 30 is an honour,” says Brad. “Throughout my career I have found that integrating sustainability principles into the engineering design process can have a lasting impact on our communities. Now, more than ever, the decisions we make need to focus on mitigation, adaptation, and equity. To be part of this group of leaders and innovators will continue to inspire me and my work.”

Brad's emphasis on sustainability throughout design and construction has been recognized by the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI) with the first Envision Award for Sustainable Infrastructure given to a project in the Province of Alberta (Lacombe Main Street Program). He is one of 10 Envision Trainers in Canada, a member of the Transportation Association of Canada’s Climate Change Integrated Committee, and sits on ISI’s Sustain It or Explain It task force. Brad has also volunteered with Engineers Without Borders by providing technical reviews for university students working on projects in South Africa and Peru.

“The response to the climate crisis requires leaders to challenge the status quo and flex their creativity to develop effective solutions that can be implemented now,” says Tanya Doran, Stantec’s Western Canada carbon lead. “Brad is that leader, and we are happy to have his talent and voice on our team, supporting our clients.”

For the 7th year in a row, Corporate Knights has recognized sustainability leaders on their annual 30 under 30 list. This year’s edition featured a record number of nominations. Nominees are recognized for work that aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

In 2021, Stantec was named the fifth most sustainable company in the world and first in North America by Corporate Knights and also recognized as the top firm among industry peers on Corporate Knights’ Canada’s Best 50 Corporate Citizens ranking.
