Stantec’s Mid-Atlantic Environmental Services sector leader Vince DiCamillo has been honored with the Meritorious Lifetime Achievement in Floodplain Management Award by the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM). The award was bestowed on May 23 at the ASFPM National Conference in Cleveland, Ohio.
The ASFPM Meritorious Lifetime Achievement in Floodplain Management Award recognizes individuals who, throughout their career, have achieved success in a significant aspect of floodplain management. These efforts include policy, outreach, implementation, education, government, research, litigation, or other actions that demonstrate the advancement of flood loss and risk reduction within the nominee’s professional realm.
“It’s truly an honor to be recognized on a national level for my work, and it is a tribute to the teams of people who supported me throughout my career,” DiCamillo said. “Helping communities identify and map flood risks to mitigate future losses is of critical importance as we work to support communities in increasing resilience, and it’s something we’re committed to every day.”
DiCamillo has nearly 45 years of experience managing major federal programs aimed at identifying and assessing natural hazards and mitigating their effects on the built environment. As senior principal at Stantec, he manages and oversees a variety of multidisciplinary projects in water resources and multi-hazard risk assessment and mitigation. He has also successfully led several multimillion-dollar Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) contracts.
In addition to presenting at numerous ASFPM conferences and events, DiCamillo also serves on the board of the trustees for the ASFPM Foundation, where he is an active leader on the fundraising committee.
“This is a tremendous achievement for Vince, and we couldn’t be prouder of his longstanding dedication to the field,” said Scott Storlid, senior vice president of Environmental Services at Stantec. “Throughout his career, he has established an impressive record of outstanding client service in water and environmental resources.”
