We are thrilled to announce that Stantec have been shortlisted in three categories at the Water Industry Awards 2019.
Stantec is a finalist in the categories; Water Industry Consultant of the Year, Drainage & Flood Management Initiative of the Year and People Initiative of the Year.
In recognition of the growth in Stantec's consultancy business in the UK and securing the first two major consultancy appointments in the Water industry for the AMP7 period (2020 - 2025), Stantec has been recognised as a major contender and nominated for the Water Industry Consultant of the Year.
Stantec's growth has been enhanced by the acquisition of two consultancy businesses in 2018. In March ESI joined Stantec, bringing its 50 strong scientific environmental team with specialist water resources team to broaden and deepen Stantec's offering to the Water industry. Further major expansion with the acquisition of Peter Brett Associates, adding 700 engineers, planners, scientists and economists to Stantec's ranks has strengthened Stantec's position in the UK.
The People Initiative of the Year submission showcased us for our unique and innovative 'Cradle to Sage' recruitment, retention and talent development programme, designed to meet the full career development needs of our current and future engineers.
Finally, our joint entry with CIRIA for the Drainage & Flood Management Initiative of the Year, secured our third finalist position at these prestigious awards. Our development of CIRIA's Benefits Estimation Tool (B£ST) provides a simple way for practitioners to estimate the monetary value of blue-green infrastructure (BGI).
B£ST provides a means of supporting a shift in focus from traditional forms of drainage and flood management to one that recognises and delivers multiple benefits, making best use of limited resources for all stakeholders.
The Water Industry Awards, organised by WET News and Water & Wastewater Treatment, celebrate and reward outstanding achievement and innovation in the UK water industry and are The event in the water sector's calendar.
"This is fantastic news for our business and a tribute to all our teams who bring their passion for creativity and innovation to work every day." said Cath Schefer, Stantec UK Managing Director.
The winners will be announced on 20 May at the awards ceremony and gala dinner at the Hilton Metropole Hotel, Birmingham.
