Stantec’s Lauren Meyer talks ESG in mining with Engineering & Mining Journal
From designing underground mosques to treating wastewater, Lauren Meyer talks about people and mining. Lauren, co-leader of Stantec’s Sustainable Mining by Design™ initiative, describes how ESG considerations have become a major focus in mining. She shares how the “E” for Environment often overshadows the “S” for Social. But social aspects will become increasingly important in the future. Lauren explains how mining companies need to be able to navigate stricter stakeholder expectations to maintain a social license to operate.
Lauren is a geotechnical engineer based out of our Fort Collins office. She’s passionate about including sustainability in her everyday work and is committed to enhancing her clients’ environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals.
