AISES + Stantec

At Stantec, we’re always looking for ways to build stronger connections with communities, meaningful engagement with Indigenous Peoples and businesses, and deeper commitments to elevating pathways to STEM within Indigenous communities.

Elevating Indigenous Peoples and Businesses

Stantec’s partnership with AISES is one of our priorities towards supporting STEM for Indigenous Peoples and businesses in the US. We continue to grow our participation and level of support with an increasing number of our employees engaged in AISES from across the US and Canada.

In 2024, our engagement in AISES events includes attending, presenting, and/or sponsoring the Region 1, 2, 3, and 4 conferences, the Canadian National Gathering (February 2024), and the National Conference (October 2024). Additionally, Stantec team members are grateful to be included as AISES Corporate Advisory Council participants—helping on key council initiatives that will contribute to AISES’s growth and mission as an organization—and as active members of AISES committees and professional chapters.

It’s important that our approach to Indigenous Relations—whether recruiting Indigenous candidates, supporting their career growth, or working alongside Indigenous communities and businesses—considers the histories, cultures, and values of Indigenous Peoples. As we continue to expand efforts companywide, we bring lessons learned from our Indigenous Relations and Partnerships commitment in Canada and hope to implement similar practices and strategies across many other geographies that Stantec serves.
