Classroom/Virtual Course
The electrical safety and lock out tag out (LOTO) course provides users with the knowledge to be able to perform LOTO procedures safely. Failure to lock out machinery before working on it is a major cause of injury and death, and workers must be trained by their employer in specific electrical and LOTO procedures. The main purpose of an electrical safety and LOTO is to prevent the release of hazardous energy that can cause bodily injury or death. Before work can begin, isolating the energy source or rendering it inoperable can prevent accidents from occurring. This practical course discusses electricity and other hazards, legislative requirements, electrical safety, LOTO safety standards (e.g., Z462. Z460), and authorized personnel. The course also covers safe work practices, control methods, inspections, training, and communication.
