As the manager of our Bristol office and Urban Design and Master Planning team, Barry has over 25 years of experience advising to clients in the public and private sectors on projects ranging from visons for new urban places to the design of new settlements. He fosters a collaborative ethos that has led to a creative approach to place making.
Barry has helped produce visions, design and access statements, and design codes that focus on issues of climate change, making healthy and beautiful places, biodiversity, and the appropriate use of technology to enrich lives. He has also advised on urban regeneration sites and city centre strategies including Mamhilad Urban Village. This involved transforming a former nylon factory, one of the largest historically listed buildings in South Wales, and the area around it into a new community with schools, local employment, housing, and new parkland areas.
Outside of work, Barry spends most of his time playing sport and acting at a local theatre company in Bristol.
