With over 25 years’ experience working in the water and hydropower industries, Jon is a chartered civil engineer and a supervising engineer under the Reservoirs Act. He’s currently working in our High Wycombe office on various dams and hydropower schemes, including the 1296-megawatt (MW) Coire Glas pumped storage project in Scotland.
For Jon, a notable experience was serving as scheduling engineer for the 800 MW Mohmand Dam in Pakistan and, prior to that, working as a dam engineer for the $0.5 billion Genale-Dawa 3 (GD-3) Hydropower Scheme in Ethiopia. From 2005 to 2013, he served as a project engineer for the £150 million Abberton Scheme in Essex, taking it through planning application, design, and construction. This scheme was particularly satisfying as it gave him the opportunity to unite ecological and engineering enhancements—and the reservoir remains a favourite place to go back to for work and pleasure.
Outside of work, Jon likes to clear his head by going for long runs in the Chiltern Hills. He wishes he lived nearer the sea so he could do more sailing.
