Stantec, a global leader in sustainable design and engineering, has been appointed to the Cadent Environmental Services Framework. The appointment will see Stantec providing a range of environmental services and assessments within Cadent’s construction projects.
As part of the Environmental Services Framework, Stantec will have the opportunity to provide environmental, ecological, and archaeological consultancy works to meet Cadent’s legislative obligations, internal standards, and industry best practice where it is not covered by a wider project management contract.
Framework partners are appointed to complement and enhance Cadent’s environmental credentials, as the gas distribution network recognises the value these partners bring to the organisation when meeting its objectives.
Stantec will have a key role in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, working collaboratively with Cadent to drive innovation forward. Its activity will help enhance customer service, improve safety, productivity, and cost performance, while also minimising Cadent’s impact on the environment.
The framework will mainly ensure the delivery of services including environmental impact assessments, feasibility studies, desktop surveys, planning consents and permitting, ground investigations and environmental audits.
Stantec is also on Cadent’s Property Services Framework. As a result of this second framework with Cadent, the company can now bring its expertise and lessons learnt from successfully delivering environmental services on a wide range of projects for UK-wide clients, including long linear infrastructure and other capital delivery works.
Sophie Lee, framework manager, at Stantec, said: "We are delighted to be able to grow our offering to Cadent. We look forward to supporting the teams by delivering excellent environmental services for both their capital delivery programme and ongoing projects.”
Commenting on the appointment, John Ord, Business Director, Energy & Resources, Stantec, said: “This is an important appointment for Stantec as it really cements the growth of our professional services delivery across the energy sector. Through this framework we will help Cadent continue to meet their environmental responsibilities, further develop their environmental credentials and collaborate to meet objectives.”
Abby Warrender, Capital Delivery: “We are actively exploring new ways to reduce our environmental footprint and reduce our emissions. We’re delighted to work with Stantec, a company with a similar ethos which focuses on creating smarter, connected sustainable communities.”
