Bailey Road Clinical Laboratory
When Bailey Road Laboratories needed updates and additional space to remain a viable asset for the university, we were there to help.
In order to answer a growing demand for cellular lab spaces, our team was contracted by the University of Rochester (UR) to provide fundamental and enhanced commissioning services for the major renovation and expansion. The project consolidated the UR’s cellular, and very specialized lab spaces into a state-of-the-art open-plan laboratory to allow for more flexible use of high demand spaces. The entire laboratory facility is a Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) with a Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) Laboratory on the first floor. Systems and equipment that our team provided these services on included air handlings units, air valves, rapid reheat coils, fire/smoke dampers, space pressurization monitors, and building automation system. We also assisted with grounding, emergency lighting, laboratory gases, flow fixtures, and the automatic sprinkler system.
The Bailey Road Clinical Laboratory now provides specialized yet flexible space for multiple quickly growing user groups, allowing UR to remain competitive in their offerings for specialized lab space.
